My first encounter with Mr Max Knell was in the east side parking lot of the Ole's store on Rosemead Blvd in 1974; where as a box boy, I was asked to load the trunk of his cadillac with cases of paper towels. Upon re-entering the store I asked the store manager (Mr Joe Crow) who was that fellow & what was he doing with all those towels? He replied" That's Mr Knell the owner and he's going to donate them to a school. Being all of 18 at the time I thought that was very generous of him. A short time later they asked me to assist a carpenter who was installing some paneling in one of the upstairs offices. Thats where I noticed one particular picture frame on the wall with a certificate of appreciaton from another country for a gift to them. I thought to myself ,this is the kind of man I want to work for .Maybe that's why 18 years later my resume still contained only one employer. Thanks Max and Harvey too. If it wasn't for you I'd never moved to Vegas& never met my wonderfull wife of 24 years. Thanks Again

My dad told me about Max's passing the other day and I just wanted to express to you my sympathy and best wishes. My dad had a lot of good stories about how he and his cousins did so many things together. Ceil, Harvey, Diane and Judy, my thoughts are with you. Love, your cousin Ron and family.

Mr. Knell, you will be missed. I remember Saturday afternoons at Ole's with my father when I was small. I had the pleasure of knowing you more recently and will miss your kind and gentle nature and your zest for life. My thoughts and prayers are with your family in this time of grief.

Grandma, Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you. Grandpa, Thank you again for all the great memories. I will always love and remember you forever. I hope that more people sign this guest book and write something special about my grandfather Max to help his memory live on forever.
