Maxwell Silver Obituary

February 22, 1989-December 1, 2007. Max's first day in heaven was December 1, 2007. He was suddenly taken away from his friends, family, and the love of his life because of a tragic accidental drowning while attending Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Max was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Marshall and Mary Silver. Max graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in May 2007. While attending CMHS, Max was Captain of the Cross Country team and one of the few members of the team that competed and earned a letter during all four years of high school. Max was also part of the video class that produced the morning video message that was broadcast throughout the school. Max loved using his talents and creativity to "speak to the people." Max is survived by his parents: Mary and Randy Stark; his father Marshall Silver, and his brother Ben. He was also survived by his sister Jennifer Wolf and her husband Neil, nephew Connor Quinn and niece Hannah; Max's sister Alli Graham and her husband Pat and nephews Jake, Josh and Joe. Max leaves behind his Poppy and Grant Jan, Uncles and Aunts, and numerous cousins and the love of his life, Cat. Max's heart was big enough to hold all the people that he met and he did not give them a choice but to love him. He has been described by his peers as kind and loving and the most genuine person they have ever known. Max lived to the fullest and we invite you to join us to celebrate his life on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodmen Valley Chapel. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship fund in Max's memory c/o The Bank at Broadmoor. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." II Tim 4:7.

Max, I love you so much. Its taken me a while to come to grips with what has happen. Hopefully this will give me some kind of closure. From the first moment I met you, my freshman year, you had always been so nice to me. You were like a brother to me. Working with you this past summer at the Dipper was one of the most memorable events I will never forget. You will always have a special place in my heart, Maxwell. You have inspired me to live my life to the fullest and always love the moment you are in. You are in God's hands now and he knows how special you are. Rest in Peace Maxwell Silver.

Words cannot describe how wonderful of a friend Max was to me. I will forever remember the time I was lucky enough to spend with him, and will not ever forget the laughs we shared. He could always put a smile on my face, no matter what. I am truely devastated by his loss, but I have no doubt that his memory will live on forever. I am so blessed to have known him and to have had such a great friend like him in my life. He was so genuine and he will be greatly missed by me and so many others. He'll always be in my heart. My heart goes out to all of Max's family and friends. I never met Max personally but I would see him at the Little Dipper when he worked there and one of my sons told me what a nice guy he was. I can't even begin to imagine the pain you are in because there can be no greater pain than losing a child. You are in my thoughts and I'm so sorry for your loss.
