Allen Bernard McDonald, 74, of Colorado Springs, entered eternal rest on December 8, 2025. Known for his warmth, energy, and spirit, he lived a life rooted in service and family. Born in 1951 in Memphis Tennessee, Allen proudly served 30 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, retiring as Chief Master Sergeant.He continued his commitment to country with 15 years of federal service. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he cherished every moment with family. He loved sports—especially the Pittsburgh Steelers—and made game days a family tradition. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ora McDonald; brothers, Dutro II and Horace; and sisters, Dollena, Kathleen, and Dave Ella. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Gurley- McDonald; children, Cedric and Tamara McDonald; stepson, Alvin (Kendra) Gurley.; and sister, Emma Jean Oliver. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a large, loving extended family. Allen will be remembered for his leadership, compassion, and unwavering pride in those he loved. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte ave, Colorado Springs at 10am. He will be laid to rest at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO.
