Melba Williams Obituary

Melba Audean Fuller Tilton Williams was born on April 9, 1924 in Bee, Oklahoma. Times were hard in the 1920's for the family of seven children. At age five she was adopted by Robert E. Tilton and Mary Merle Tilton. Melba departed this earth on July 2, 2011 to be with her loving husband of 63 years John Ernest Lee Williams (11-2-24/11-24-2005). He was the tall lanky cowboy and she was the shy beautiful brunette. They were married on June 30, 1942. He soon left to serve in WWII. Lee worked as an airplane mechanic and Melba kept a loving home raising two daughters. She made beautiful quilts and dresses for "her girls". Melba's fried Okra and homemade biscuits and gravy were the best. She rode horses with Lee and the girls in the Mustang Roundup Club. She enjoyed fishing and camping and at age 87 could out fish us all. Mom loved books and reading was her passion. She never left home without her lipstick on. Melba is survived by her two daughters LeMerla Dean Williams Beukema and Rita Kay Williams Finch, Son-In Law Charles Finch, Grandsons Zeb and Zac Beukema, Granddaughter Kaylinn Oltermann, three great grandchildren, Blake and Jasmone Oltermann and Madison Beukema as well as many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved very much. We were adopted by Lee and Melba Williams. They raised us as their own and always told us how much were loved and wanted. We would like to thank the staff at the Medalion Retirement Home for the special care they gave our Mother. Thanks also to OdysseyHospice. Mom - Love you now and forever.
