Martha,
My heart and prayers go out to you and your family, not only for the loss of Melvin, but for having to endure your own pain throughout his illness.

Aunt Carrie and family,
I am so very sorry. I know Melvin was a good son and brother and he will be greatly missed by all of you.

Melvin,
I still remember your laughter from when we were kids. You were always happy, smiling, laughing, and cracking jokes. Your wise-cracks were always so quick-witted and kept us all laughing. Even when you teased us, you made us laugh. It was hurtful to know of your pain and suffering. I will never forget you. (I'm so glad you enjoyed your cake.)

Many blessing to you,

Joseph Martinez

Dear Uncle Melvin,
I don't know why, but I guess it was just time. And oh how I wish the hour glass could have kept going. I love you, I miss you, and I'll never forget you.

I'll never forget the great football Sundays when I would walk into your living room just waiting for you to say, " Hey Joe, you want a Coke or Pepsi? There's some in the fridge. C'mon and see how those darn Broncos are gonna do this year."

I'll always miss, love and, cherish those days. Though I will never forget them.

I know now that you are above us watching, waiting..... LOVING.

And don't worry, I'll be waiting too, waiting for you to escort me through those big white gates.

I love you, I miss you and I'll never forget you.

Your Loving Nephew, Joseph Martinez

Uncle Melvin,
I love you so much and I wish you didn't have to go, but I guess it was just meant to be. I know that you will always be with us watching and caring. And we'll be waiting to see your smiling face at those big white gates.
I'll never forget all the great days of NFL Sunday walking into your living room waiting for you to say, " Hey Joe, you want a Coke or a Pepsi? There's some in the fridge, come see how those darn Broncos are gonna do this year."
I'll never forget, but I'll always cherish. I love you very much and I'll miss you. And I'll be waiting to see you again. Rest In Peace. Your Loving Nephew,
Joseph Martinez

Dearest Melvin you are so special to me. You were a great brother. I had so much fun when I was little you loved to talk to me like a baby and I loved it. You spoiled me so much, call me Princess. You would tell me I didn't have to do dishes. You were there for me during one of the hardest and saddest times of our life when Dad passed away, you took me by the hand and talked to me alone and that meant the world to me. You told me Dad loved me and you loved me and we talked about when I was a little girl, and how much we were going to miss Dad. My heart is so broke there has been so much hurt and sorrow. You said I'm your baby sister. I love you so very much and I wish you would have never got sick. There's no more suffering. pain, or sickness in Heaven. I know your an Angel watching over us. Melvin I love you so much you were a caring, and loving brother. I will miss you and think of you all the time. I will never forget you. Don't forget me. Your sister always lotsa hugs and kisses for you xoxoxo,

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
