My brothers and I were in the same youth group with Merlin & siblings when they lived in Phoenix (many years ago). We all had such fun times!Good memories!

Dear Phyllis, cousins, and Aunt Ada, I wish we could be with you all this weekend. It was so shocking to get the phone call about Merlin. Even though we didn't see alot of you all over the years, the moments we did were sweet, with your accompanying Ropp/Gingerich laughter, which still makes me smile. Makes me miss Myrna too. Just know you are all loved, and we will be praying for you through this time. We may be far apart but we haven't forgotten about you all. Looking forward to when we will ALL be together again. Merlin was a mentor to me in business, in being a man, being good to others and being great to family. In my toughest of times he offered a smile and time to conversate. My thoughts are with the entire Gingerich family as they work through this difficult time. He will be greatly missed by everyone he helped, influenced, loved or spoke to even once. God bless him for the impact he had on my life and God bless you all during this difficult time.

Although there are no words to describe how amazing Merlin Gingerich was, this obituary comes close. Though I am just a speck in the crowd of people that love him, he made a huge impact on my life. My husband, children and myself will forever be thankful that God allowed for our paths to cross. Our lives are richer from knowing him. Personally, I think his life ended too soon. Selfishly, I would wish him back. However, I trust in my Heavenly Father and His wisdom. Heaven became a much richer place when Merlin arrived. Phyllis, Jason, Jeff, Amber, your spouses and beautiful children: The Winchester's love you dearly and we are praying continuously for all of you. Until we meet again...

There are really no words, to express the sorrow I feel for Merlins family, and all those that knew and loved him. I first met Merlin back in the mid-80s. I remember thinking that this is a Christian man. You could just tell. I worked with him off and on over the years, and especially the last few years since I have been with Park and Rec. Everytime I saw him he had a smile on his face. His reputation in the Landscape Industry was top notch, and he will be missed by so many. Jason,I am hoping that you will carry on the tradition, and run Green Thumb for another 38 years. My prayers and sympathy goes out to you and your family. But we know that Merlin is with our Father in heaven now. So we will rejoice in his life, and we will remember that our lives are in His hands. And hopefully live our lives, so that we too will make a difference in this world. May God comfort you and give you His peace. Merlin you will be missed.

The obit was as perfectly said as anything I have ever known about this man. He will be missed by our family.
