Merrill Nibarger Obituary

Merrill L. Nibarger of Chillicothe, MO, died Friday, July 28 at his home. He was 67. Merrill was born September 1, 1938 in Pasadena, CA, the son of Leonard and Berenice Nibarger. He was a 1957 graduate of Chillicothe High School. On August 17, 1958 he married Patricia Ann Buck. They honeymooned in Colorado Springs. Merrill worked in his family business, Nibarger Building Supplies until fire destroyed the entire building and contents. Merrill and his family returned to Colorado Springs in 1982 where he became the "Best Damn Tour Guide in the State of Colorado." Merrill was the heart and soul of Pikes Peak Tours, Gray Line of Colorado Springs, until his retirement in 2001. Survivors include two daughters, Carey Balli and husband of Austin, TX and Shellie Sailer and husband of Lenexa, KS; his mother Berenice Nibarger; one sister, Eleanor Brooks; one brother, Richard Nibarger; and two granddaughters, Hanna and Jessica Sailer. He was preceded in death by his father. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, MO with Rev. James Morgan as officiate. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution be made in his name to the First Baptist Church Building Fund at 1601 Bryan St, Chillicothe, MO 64601
