I met Colonel Goldsboro in Qatar as prior to entering Iraq with the 34th Infantry Division. We were sleeping in cots close to each other and I struck up a conversation which became a mentorship, and friendship. I would not have assumed company command in Iraq had he not said "Boy, if they offer you that position, you better take it"! I used my law enforcement investigator experience to support him during his EO investigations and he helped the Mustang with everything a mentor does. I have been calling him just to hear is voice say OK Paul, hows the family, my daughter are doing good, you know she is an attorney, and I´m going back on active duty because selfless service was his life. When he did not return my call I checked and found he went home to Mr Jesus as my kids say. I´m devastated for his wife, kids, family, friends and ll who had the honor of hearing him check on you and saw all right now with. That Southern accent and constant talking. God bless you Colonel G. I will forever appreciate and love you for supporting, educating, and encouraging me along my military and personal Journey. Simper Fidelis sir!

It has been my privilege to have known Colonel Michael Goldsborough for the past 15 years. He was a leader, confidant, family man, activist, and a true friend. He made positive things happen and made a tremendous impact on this community. May he rest in peace and rest in power.

Mike (Col G) and I became friends during his recent recall to active duty at Fort Bliss. I've never met anyone more dedicated to helping people, especially young people, than Mike. He was always offering life & career advice to young Soldiers. You could tell by the stories he would tell about current & former students that helping kids realize their maximum potential was a calling for him. The world lost a great husband, father, teacher and Soldier. Rest in peace my friend.

From the Logistics Division at WBAMC at Fort Bliss we called him COL G. He came back in the Army from Retirement to support us during the COVID Pandemic. He would visit us every day and hang out, ask us about our families and talk about his wife and children. We are devastated to learn of his passing. We’d like to extend our condolences to the Goldsborough family. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
