Michael Heschel Obituary

SUFFOLK, VA: Michael T. Heschel, Sr., 63, of Suffolk, VA died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Sentra Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA.
He was born on December 3, 1946 in Fremont, OH to George Donald and Jacqueline (Cooley) Heschel. He was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Michael married Betty Franks on June 26, 1965 in Fremont and she survives. He worked as a Supervisor for Peter Eckrich, Co. and various other meat processing plants for 30 years. He was a Realtor for three years and also worked in the Shipyards for two years in Virginia.
Michael loved riding his motorcycle. He took a trip from San Diego, CA traveling to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and rode on Route 66 ending in Virginia. He was a member of A.M.A., a founding member of the Catalyst Church in Gint, VA and a former member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Fremont where he served as an Altar Boy. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and his dog, Pepe.
Michael is survived by his wife, Betty Heschel, Suffolk, VA; children, Michael (Josette) Heschel, Jr., Tiffin, OH, Roxanne (Steve) Scherer, Lindsey, OH, Carrie (Chirs) Legg, Stevensville, MD; siblings, Beverly Hababurg, Eldred, PA, Barbara Ann Mullens of California, Donna Marie Domenech of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Corleen Heschel, Kayla Heschel, Cory Scherer, Courtney Scherer; great grandchildren, Jay Lee, Adelynne and Alanna.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Craig K. Heschel.
Visitation: Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH 43420. Mass of Christian Burial: St. Ann Catholic Church, 1021 W. State St., Fremont, 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Thomas Extejt officiating. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont
