Michael Vincent LaCasse passed away on August 9, 2021, after a lengthy illness. Born June 25, 1948 in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Lena M. and Louis H. LaCasse, Mike attended St. John's School of Little Canada, Hill-Murray High School, and St. Cloud State College.
After a four year enlistment in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971, he returned to Minnesota and attended Anoka-Ramsey Community College, where he took a degree as an associate electronics engineer and studied photography.
He worked in a number of fields before retiring in 2010 from USAA Insurance. All his life he enjoyed photography and gardening. In his retirement, he took classes and taught himself to be a an accomplished wood worker crafting fine furniture and home and yard décor.
He is survived by his wife Deborah, son Jeremy of New Mexico, daughter Jessica of Bavaria, Germany, stepdaughter Heather of Colorado, and grandson, Aidan LaCasse of New Mexico. He will be missed by eight siblings, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

I was in Basic Training with Mike where we became friends. Just learned of his passing. I'm sure he will be missed.

I was so sad to hear about Mike's passing. I knew him as ColoradoPatriot on gab where he shared his beautiful photos and knowledge. We all loved his near-daily posts and knew something was amiss when they stopped on July 18th. Sadly, we now know why. His photos were a complete delight - from flowers and birds to squirrels and his dear doggo Sophie the Pitweenie. Mike was a true artist! We are grateful to Mike for his service to our country and for his kind and generous spirit! Godspeed, sir, Godspeed!
