Michael Lippincott Obituary

MICHAEL JAY LIPPINCOTT
July 19, 1959
April 9, 2021
It is with great sorrow that the family of Michael Jay Lippincott, announce his passing on Friday, April 9th surrounded by close family. He was 61 years of age. Mike was born in Mount Holly, NJ, and spent his youth moving around as part of a military family, including spending time in Germany. The Lippincott's loved Colorado Springs and upon arriving made it their permanent home; Mike attended Widefield High School.
Mike was a well-liked and well-known businessman and entrepreneur, successfully operating his carpet cleaning business, Certified Carpet Care, for over thirty years. He also owned and operated a graphics design business. A lover of cars, Mike began drag racing at just nineteen years old and later transitioned to stock cars. As a driver, some of his notable accomplishments include Rookie of the Year and third in points for the season. His love of motorsports led him to become the racetrack photographer for eight years, then track operations manager, and finally the General Manager of Beacon Hill/ I-25 speedway.
Though too short, Mike's life was well and fully lived and he loved to have fun. He was an amazing ballroom dancer and loved to dress to the nines and dance the Rumba and Bolero with his wife at VFW 4051 where he was an active member. He had an insatiable appetite for sweets and his granddaughter referred to him as the 'Snack Master' for cooking and baking up love in the kitchen for his family daily. He loved Krispy Kreme, and in addition to his family and friends mourning, the Girl Scouts will surely miss their best customer. Mike was a mechanical and technological genius and there was nothing he couldn't fix.
Mike will be remembered as a friend who became family, a fair businessman who took immense pride in his work, and as a father and husband who provided for and loved his family unconditionally. Optimistic and easy-going, with a contagious laugh and smile, Mike had a delightful and mischievous sense of humor. Mike was authentic and always willing to help, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mike is survived by his wife Janet Lippincott, his daughter Danielle Civale, and one granddaughter, his mother Florence Kennedy, and his siblings Mark Lippincott, Sharon Riegel, Tanya Lippincott-Webb, and Theresa Vanderheiden. His father, Joseph D. Lippincott, preceded him in death. Memorial services will be at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO, Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation on Mike's behalf to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

Mike was a great guy. Known him since I was a kid. Grew up next to his dad Joe. Mike made me a metal sign with custom vinyl text with my nickname and my dirt bike long ago. I still have the sign hanging up and I will never forget. I have attended the races with the family as a kid and always enjoyed the american muscle racecars. His family names including Mike are forever engraved in the garage floor at his dad's and I think about the family often. Thank you Mike, you are missed. RIP friend.
