Where do men like Mike Nevin come from? Montana? They should send more. He enriched us. Mike had more than one pithy comment concerning government decisions in a universe guided by rationality and the laws of physics. He told us stories stories of his struggles fixing the transmission of his old Toyota sports car - he did the work himself - survival training at the USAF Academy, gymnastics, astronomy, cosmology, designing best of breed speaker systems - Ben Franklin or Thomas Jefferson would have loved hanging out with Mike for a day or two. But you could tell he was devoted to Gayle. Most of his stories were about her (Note to Gayle: They were all favorable - honest.) Here's to you, Mike! We'll see you again, after a few more laps down here. Say "hi" to Ben and Tom.

Hello family and friends. Yes this is a sad event that we have be "hit " with, but we have to think of it as a time of celebration. Don't think of it as Mikes gone, think of it as he was here and he did what he was sent here to do!! He was loved and will always be loved! Love Megan

Mike's Family - I wish I could be there for Mike's service tomorrow. Know that all of you, and especially Mike, are in my thoughts and prayers constantly.

You will survive this tragic loss, but many days you will wonder how you will survive it. Mike lives on in our hearts forever.

I remember when we were small children and Mike & Mike and Jan and I were skating on the pond. Both Mike's had gotten sailor/navy hats for Christmas - they loved those hats. Mike N. hat blew off and into the water, Mike H. got a stick to try to retrieve it, pretty soon all 4 of us were in the pond - but we saved the hat! We all got put into hot baths immediately by our not too happy mothers.

I enjoyed seeing everyone at Bob's funeral, so glad I was there for it. I finally got to meet Gayle and it turns out that it was my last visit with Mike. I had a good time with all of you.

God Bless all of you. My heart is with you.

Mary Kay

P.S. Where did the name Barrie come from?
