Mike my heart is still heavy with your passing. We did not have enough time to spend here in "The World" as we referred to the USA. You are still the best pilot that I know. Keep everybody un there in Heaven straight and we' ll see on the flip isde.

When I was dating my husband, Charlie, in 1973 he was a housemate to Mike so I spent a lot of time with him. I will always remember him playing the piano and Mom McMullen doing the Charleston at a birthday celebration at Mike's house. We lost contact with him over the years...but he will always be a fond memory to us. So sorry. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I was saddened to hear of Mike's passing. His humor and conversation will be missed. He always took time to visit when working in his driveway and I was walking my dog. My deepest sympathy to his family.

My husband and I did not know Mike, but we do know Linda Geist and her mother, Madge. Knowing Linda and her kindness, love, compassion and empathy is knowing and loving her brother Mike. Our hearts are broken with yours, Nice/Geist family, and know that Mike is in the arms of the angels. Much love and support.

My sincere condolences to your entire family—mother Madge; sisters Linda, Sharon, and Karen; brother Steve; and son Sam. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I remember when Mike was in Vietnam. It’s clear from the tributes here that Mike is held in the highest esteem by the men he served with in 45th Dustoff Company, and that Mike was a skillful, steady, dedicated pilot—a HERO, who put himself in harm’s way to save the lives of countless young soldiers.

To My Brother In Law Mike: You left us before we could say goodbye. So many things I would of said. My heart is broken & my eyes fill with tears. I wish this was all a bad dream, but I know it is not. You will always be in my dreams with happy thoughts of you. You will be so missed by us all (Mom, Sharon, Linda, Karen, & Steve) May you rest in heaven Brother Mike. All my Love, Sister in Law, Doreen Nice

My sympathy to Mikes family. Mike was an AC when I arrived in Viet Nam. He helped me learn how to fly in combat and was a calm, brave, matter of fact pilot who always "flew the mission". We connected a year ago and it was a great meeting of old pilots. Mike was still calm, and a gentleman with a great smile. He was on of America's best. Rest in peace Mike. It was my honor to know you. Tom St Hilaire 45th med dustoff 12.

I flew as Crew Chief with the 45th Dustoff in Vietnam. Mike flew several missions with me. He was steady and true as a pilot and very caring. I, as well as many Dustoff Crew members are thankful to have been in the company of Mike. May he rest in peace.

It is with great sorrow that I write this in memory of my Fallen Brother in Arms. Mike is in a better place and may he rest in peace. For Mike's son, sibblings, and Mother; know that Mike is well respected in the DUSTOFF Community. I was a flight medic with Mike in VietNam and flew many missions with him. He is one of few that I call The Best. The last reunion that I attended Mike and I reminised of our 'unauthorized' visit to Saigon. I was happy to be the one that took him on the trip DUSTOFF Double Ace (11) will be missed by all.

My sincere prayers and thoughts are with you. Have thought so much about Mike and the summers we spent together in Matheson. Enjoyed Mike's laugh and sense of humor and kindness. Always trying the get grandad to take us fishing and working on that Model T for a summer, I was his "go-for" person and still laugh about spilling the black paint all over my face and Mike trying to clean me up. Much love to the family and will be in our thoughts.

I was proud to have Mike in my platoon at the 45th Med Co (AA) during our tour in Vietnam 1969-70. He was an excellent pilot and a true gentleman. I used to kid him that he lived up to his name.
Rest in peace my brother.

My deepest sympathy for the Nice family. Mike was a "short timer" (about to DROS) with the 45th Med Co (Air Amb) and an excellent Dustoff pilot when we met in 1970. Rest in peace Michael...rest in peace Dustoff 11...you were always there for others when they needed you.

I flew with Mike in 1969 as his aircraft commander. We flew many missions together and because of his skills and heroism, he became an aircraft commander as well. Due to his heroism, skills as a pilot and as a leader, thousands of soldiers had the opportunity to live and enjoy the remainder of their lives. Mike was a true friend, stellar pilot, and very exceptional person. We will all miss him dearly. Steve Vermillion
