This tough Patriot is still remembered. He kept the terrorists away from the Homeland so the rest of us and our children could enjoy peace and freedom. That makes him a Hero for the ages. Peace and love to the family of Sgt. Paranzino.

Zino,
Halfway down the trail to Hell,
In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead troopers camped,
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddlers' Green.
Marching past, straight through to Hell
The Infantry are seen.
Accompanied by the Engineers,
Artillery and Marines,
For none but the shades of Cavalrymen
Dismount at Fiddlers' Green.
Though some go curving down the trail
To seek a warmer scene.
No trooper ever gets to Hell
Ere he's emptied his canteen.
And so rides back to drink again
With friends at Fiddlers' Green.
And so when man and horse go down
Beneath a saber keen,
Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee
You stop a bullet clean,
And the hostiles come to get your scalp,
Just empty your canteen,
And put your pistol to your head
And go to Fiddlers' Green.
From a Brother who was there in Iraq and there in Afghanistan
Still and always a thought in my mind and a pain in my heart missing a true friend and brother in arms not a day goes by that I dont remember goodtimes with you buddy I love and miss you everyday

Father we entrust our brother Michael to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Michael in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathies.

Lindsey,
Please accept my deepest and heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your husband and hero Michael. I was upset at myself after reading the article in the paper and not recognizing that he was your husband. Your mother's last name is different than your maiden name and helped me with my stupidity in not recognizing the connection. We were away on vacation at the time and when we returned I was reading the older editions of the Projo when I saw your photo at the funeral. Forgive me for the memory laspe and I am truly sorry that I was away during your difficult period. I would have been there standing tall with everyone else paying tribute to your hero and loving husband. If you are in the local area please contact me as I would love to spend time with you and talk. How are your sisters doing. You all made my job at Rogers interesting and rewarding. God Bless You and your family and take care of those two young men in your life that will take Daddy's place as the men of the house.
You will always be in our hearts and prayers.

Dear Paranzino family,
I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Michael will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to SGT. Michael Paranzino our Brother-in-Arms . To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Michael. And to Michael it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Michael, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,335 military Legionnaire Veterans of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Michael’s family and loved ones.

The price, Michael and his family have paid, Will Never Be Forgotten. May he Rest Safely now, in God's Care and may the Peace of God be with the Paranzino family.
I am the Sister of such a young hero, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, many years ago
May you find comfort and strength, in the beautiful memories, of times spent with Michael, and quietly and gently, may healing come, with each new day.

For while here on earth,
He was one of our best.

To the family of the late Sgt. Michael F. Paranzino,
It is with great sadness and deepest sympathy from myself and the entire church community of St. Anthony's, St. Edwards parishes in North Providence that we send to Michaels family. I was so saddened to hear of the passing of a young man doing what he wanted to in life from bravory and served for his country with great honor. I heard he said, I will be back home, well to you, his parents, wife and children, he is "home." He will never have to worry about being unsafe again and we as a community will remember him for all that he did. Take comfort in this poem that I found.
Going home to Heaven
by Maraiya Storm
you go straight to the ocean
to find yourself some peace
you know the ocean heals you
every time you feel such grief.
every time it's all too much,
the ocean is your home
with its crashing waves
and seagulls flying
it's peace that comes
amidst your crying.
do you cry out in pain
for His holy name?
is it time to pass now?
is it time to rest?
is it time to stop
and be so blessed?
you've made it so far
running on empty,
but your time is up
and you want to go on home.
so see that God can bring you
bring you soon on home
while the sun is setting on the water
shimmering gold,
shimmering white,
on into night.
say your prayers
on this day of rest
as you do pass over
knowing He will heal you
and you'll understand
why you strayed so far
and why you came back home.
can you praise the Holy Father
who annoints your head with oil
can you praise the Holy Father
as you praise his sacred son?
can you know the God within you
even though He's not been present
can you welcome in His blessings
as you open up your heart?
can you love the Father
like you love His holy son
can you love yourself
even though you've so done wrong
can you find it in your heart
to forgive yourself of sins
as Jesus does forgive you
and turns it into wins.
can you feel His love,
can you feel His touch,
did you really know
that He loves you all that much?
as silent tears are falling
does His love heal your pain,
and vanquish all your shame?
can you see the sunset glistening
on the waters of forgiveness
do you love the shimmering light
on the water's holy edge?
can you hear the ocean saying
that it's time to go back home
into your father's house
through Heaven's open door?
soft voices of the angels
sing out His holy name
as they guide you into Heaven
and you are at peace again.
you've finally reached that doorway
that leads the lost sheep home
and with rainbows all around you
there really are no storms.
rainbows all around you
all shimmering silver glow
a walkway paved in gold
just as you've been told.
wonders all around you,
a peace that was foretold,
and you know you are in Heaven
amidst God's purest gold
Rest in Peace Michael.

God bless Sgt. Paranzino's family and friends during this hard time. As the wife of a deployed Marine I want you to know you have a large extended family within the services that grieves with you.
I also wanted to share with you that Sgt. Paranzino was mentioned in my husband's squardon, VMFA 312,speech at the Marine Corps Birthday ceremony aboard the USS Harry Truman. The speech was sent home to me in their monthly newsletter. It quotes "Sergeant Michael Paranzino wrote an email to his Dad from Afghanistan on 5 Nov 2010, "…the jets are the sweetest sound in the
world to the guys on the ground." Sgt Paranzino was killed in a firefight later that same day. This hero’s words motivate me even
further to give my all in the accomplishment of our important mission." Written by the 312 commander LtCol Latt USMC F/A 18 pilot. The loss is felt throughout the branches and the drive to continue the Good Fight is even stronger.
May God give all strength. Thank you for beig a Hero, and a Patriot.
