I have no way to put in to words how much I miss you Uncle Michael. There is no one that I have met in life that was as kind, funny, and supportive as you. No matter what I did you never let me forget how proud you were and that you loved me. Thank you for always bringing myself and everyone you met so much joy. Love always and forever Monika. I will alway remember your famous words " Your as jacked up as a soup sandwich."

You would have been proud today Mike! It was a beautiful service. You wouldn't believe how many people stood up to remember you. I loved seeing you through all these different eyes. From someone who served with you in Germany to a member of your Veteran club( or was it the Crown Royal club? LOL). Your neighbor who has never spoken at a memorial before got up because that's how much you meant to him. I wish I didn't have a fear of public speaking or I would have loved to have stood up and shared my memories of you. To have shown a different side of you too. And I don't mean the backside(those hospital gowns are evil)! But to share how you made me look forward to going to work. Because I had a patient that had every right to be angry at the world. Yet choose not to let his sickness define him. You were the most positive person I've ever met. You didn't let the 4 sterile walls of the hospital bring you down. You shattered those walls with your smile and laughter. Even when your health was probably worse off than others. You were concerned about other patients. And that is something I heard a lot at your service. What a selfless person you were. How you always worried about other people before your self. Do you realize how rare of a quality that is? But I know it didn't leave with you. Oh ,no ! It lives on through your kids. And speaking of Your kids. They had everyone in tears. Their words were spoken from their hearts. And just hearing the love and respect they had for you made me cry(and give me raccoon eyes by the way). You did good! But you didn't just impact them. You obviously meant a lot to those grand babies. You should have seen the song your grandkids did. It was beautiful and don't worry no one poked an eye out with a flag. You would have been proud of your wife! Diane is the strongest person I know. I saw the love you guys had for one another. It's the thing love stories are made out of. So, I know this will be the hardest on her. But I know your kids will now be her rock. Because you raised them well. And I promise to keep in contact with her. Of. Course, I am a little concerned. Do we need to put her in Bingo anonymous? JK. Well, I bet your glad I didn't stand up now. People brave enough to read this are going cross eyed. They are going to put a word count on this. I just ruined it for everyone else. LOL. Well, I'm not good with the serious stuff. But I will miss you so much. You showed me how not to let life get you down and live it to the fullest. And like you always told your daughter.. your my favorite daughter. Well, Mike you were my favorite patient. But you and your family meant much more than that to me. Try to behave up there! P. S. You weren't friends with any English teachers were you? Otherwise, they are going to have an anxiety attack with my grammatical errors. But I wasn't trying to scare anyone about our public education system that let me graduate. I just wanted people to know that my life was touched by crossing paths with you!
