Micheline Bernadette Barnett, nee Persin was born in Montcornet, France in 1937 and grew up in Laon, France. She was born the 9th child of 11 to Alfred and Marcelle Persin.
In 1961, she met the love of her life, a young American airman by the name of Donald Barnett. They married in 1962 and later had one daughter Nathalie. She followed him throughout his military and civilian careers. They first settled in Fort Worth, Texas and lived there for many years before moving to Colorado Springs and then to Germany where she took advantage of the short drive from Germany to her family in France where she visited them often. Her last move was back to Colorado Springs where she lived and loved helping take care of her "bébés".
Micheline was loved and adored by all who met her.
She leaves behind her husband, David; daughter, Nathalie, son-in-law Joachim; and her 2 granddaughters, Sabrina and Jessica. She also leaves behind 1 sister, 1 brother-in-law, dozens of nieces and nephews and many friends. She will be missed and forever loved by her family.
Both the viewing, Aug 15, from 5-7pm, and the funeral service, Aug 16, at 10am, will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctor's without Borders or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
