Mildred was born in Camden, NJ and grew up in Reddick, Fl. She was the youngest of 5 children.
Mildred married Louie who was in the Navy and together with their children, traveled to Brazil and Japan, finally settling in Concord, CA in 1958. Mildred was a member of Ladies Auxillary of the FRA since 1964, worked for Montgomery Wards for 21 years and was a member of Clayton Valley Presbyterian Church.
Mildred had a great sense of humor and was generous with her family, friends and anyone in need. She had a strong faith in God. Mildred loved her family and always had an encouraging word or advice for them. However she was also lovingly known to "keep her mouth shut and not say a word".
Mildred is preceeded in death by Louie, her husband of 33 years. She is survived by her children, Frank Meigs (Kathy) of Arkansas, Stephanie Ralphs of Benicia, and Trudy Meigs (Rich Celano) of Pleasant Hill; and grandchildred Renee Meigs of AR, Allison and Ken Birdsall of Campbell, Eric and Fanny Ralphs of Crocket, Stephen Meigs and Gretchen Heinen of TX, Joshua and Jen Ralphs of Placerville, and Christopher and Sarah Meigs of AR and 10 great grandchildren. She is missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, August 15th at 10:00 AM at Oakmont Mortuary (925) 935-3311 and a memorial service on Saturday, August 16th at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Concord.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Disabled American Veterans.
