Mildrit Price Obituary

Mildrit Gerda Price, 80 years old, of Widefield, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Born January 19, 1933 in Grabowiec, (Germany) Poland; Mildrit spent her early childhood on a farm and migrated to West Germany during WWII. She retired from the German Bundespost (Post Office) before marrying Charles Price, an American enlisted in the U.S. Army, and immigrating to America in 1973 to start her new life. Mildrit and family settled in Colorado Springs (Widefield) and lived in the same house for 40 years. She drove a cherished, mint ‘83 Volvo out of a Swedish factory up until her last few days. Mildrit enjoyed her life as a homemaker and was a beloved mother. Her Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte & Rouladen mit Rotkraut was loved by all. Her flower beds were created "for the birds" and in the Spring you would know to find her in the yard working every day. Animals, and maybe especially cats, were close to her heart. She loved to play the harmonica now & then, and dance the Polka at live band performances. Survived by her 2 children: Ramona (Don) Ayers of Ohio and Everet Price; 2 grandchildren: Miranda & Tristan Ayers; and 4 sisters: Friedl Lange, Alina Hartmann, Edeltraut Schuessler, and Erika Bouchy. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Price 2009. The family, together with friends, will have a small private "Celebration of Life" ceremony. Her remains will rest at Ft.
