Minnie Wilkes Obituary

Minnie Wilkes passed away on August 2, 2013 of age related causes. Minnie was born on March 7, 1921 in Limon, CO to Otis Henderson Thom and Lilian Viola Haberthier. Minnie graduated from Simla High School, Colorado in 1939. She met and married the love of her life Samuel Wilkes in 1947. Upon Sam's return from an overseas tour of duty the couple moved to California in 1950, finally settling in Sacramento. She was preceded in death by her husband. Minnie is survived by her younger sisters Sharon and Katherine, her younger brother Ed, her son Samuel Warren of Oregon, her daughter Sandra Kaye, grandson Peter Black and granddaughter Samantha Wilkes, all of Sacramento. Minnie is also survived by a number of friends and relatives who will miss her, and her caregivers who provided a good deal of compassion and love over the last several years. No formal memorial services are planned. Arrangements entrusted to Simple Traditions and East Lawn's Sierra Hills Memorial Park. Minnie was always a lover of small animals. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to your local Humane Society.
