Miriam was born to George and Nora Graham in 1929 in Webber, Kansas and she graduated from Mankato H.S. in 1947. She met Charles Lawson at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas and they were married. They raised three surviving children, Charla, Graham and Chris. In 1998 Miriam married Clarence Giese who passed away in 2004. Miriam got her Bachelors degree in Education with a minor in Organ from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas and retired as a professional church organist after 70 years. Miriam's generosity, sense of humor and loving nature brought her many lifelong friends in her community and at church. She will be dearly missed. Miriam is preceded in death by her mother, father, three brothers and older sister, Vera Walker who helped raise her. Miriam is survived by her children, and grandson Garrett McGaugh (Jessica). A public Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 13th at First Congregational Church, 20 East St. Vrain Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to First Congregational Church at the address above in memory of Miriam Giese.

Blessings on this loving family of Miriam of whom she was very proud. I too was her neighbor and loved her quick wit and sense of humor about this life. She will be dearly missed in our small neighborhood.

We loved having Miriam as our wonderful neighbor for 8 years. She was elegant, gracious, smart and had a great sense of humor!
