Misty Sloman Obituary

Misty Rucker Sloman, died peacefully in her sleep on November 6, 2014 with family by her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Dee and Mary (Austin) Bridges; her brother Ed and sister Erlene (Weber); her son Ron; and her late husband Wiley Sloman.

Misty knew no bounds, she was an amazing mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. While running her Chemical Company in Texas, Misty served on boards of local and national non-profit organizations, as well as on Steering Committees for Local and National Conventions. Misty tried retirement in 1993 but returned to the work force in 1995 as an Administrator Assistant in Saint Dominic Village in Houston, TX. Misty moved to Colorado Springs in 2010 where she served the community as a member of the Woman's Club of Colorado Springs and a volunteer with the Partners in Housing. She loved her bible study group and outings with what we affectionately call the 'Sonic Divas'.

Misty gave herself, her time, and would go to the end of the road with her family, friends, or anyone who needed a helping hand.

Survivors include her children, Thomas, Mary (Davern) and Cliff; grandchildren Jason, TJ, Matt, Misty Anna, Jesse, Corey, Micah and Nelson; great-grandchildren Hope, Sammy, Natali, and Matthew; seven nieces and nephews, 18 great and 27 great-great nieces and nephews; as well as her dog Haley.



Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 12, 2014, New Life Church, 11025 Voyager Parkway at 2:00 and reception to follow.
