Miyako Fitzgerald Obituary

Miyako Fitzgerald, long-time Colorado Springs resident and widow of Joshua Fitzgerald, died at Memorial Hospital on Friday September 16th, 2016.

Miyako was born March 18, 1931 in Akita Ken, Japan. She met her husband Joshua while he was serving as part of the American Occupation Forces in Japan. They married in 1954. They had 3 children, Takako, Kimiko and Charles.

Miyako retired from Current Inc. and volunteered at Memorial Hospital afterward.

She was a member of the local SGI-USA Buddhist Center. She wanted to deserve the military id card she received and she lived her life accordingly.

We love you and miss you very much, Miyako-san.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 22nd at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd 80910. From noon to 2:00pm. The service will follow at 2:00pm.

I am Alvin Talbert and I want to send my condolences to Takako and Kimiko for their loss. My mom, Chieko Talbert and Mrs Fitzgerald were long time friends and my brothers (Bruce, Eric, and Michael) would play with Charlie when my mom would visit. Miyako Fitzgerald was always very kind I am glad to have known her and her family. She will be missed.
