Moises Vigil Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather was called to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on April 9, 2010. Moises was born in Questa, New Mexico on January 18, 1928. He had been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1958. He worked as a civil servant employee at the United States Air Force Academy, Ent Air Force Base, Peterson Air Force Base, NORAD, and the Pueblo Weapons Depot and retired after 29 years of service. He served as a Pastor, Assistant Pastor and minister with the Apostolic Assembly of the faith in Christ Jesus for over 40 years. Moises was a veteran of WWII where he served in the U.S. Army as a guard patrolman with the 753rd AAA Gun Battalion in the occupation of Japan. He was honorably discharged from the Army after his tour in Japan. Moises earned the Army of Occupation Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the National Defense Medal. He is survived by his of wife of 58 years Mary Vigil. They were married on June 7, 1952. They had four children: Patricia Gonzales of Andrews, Texas; Arthur Vigil of Commerce City, Colorado: Virginia Montanez and Rita (husband, Steve) Yslas of Colorado Springs, Colorado; seven grandchildren: Rose Mary, David, Andrew, John, Aaron, Robert, Reuben; 16 great grandchildren; his sister, Frances Rael of Questa, New Mexico; and 11 nephews and nieces. A visitation will be held on Tuesday April 13, 2010 from 5-8PM at Shrine of Remembrance Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 1305 N. Union Blvd. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Following the graveside services, a luncheon reception will be served at the Seventh-day Adventist Church Dining Hall. Memorials in Moises' memory may be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
