Mona Christensen Obituary

Mona Jean Christensen passed away on March 16, 2011 in Colorado Springs. Jean was born on August 19, 1929 in St. John's, Newfoundland, the last of six girls to the late James and Rebecca (Dawe) Henderson. In 1962, she moved to the more temperate climate of Colorado Springs, at the base of the beautiful Rockies. Early in her career, Jean truly enjoyed working in the medical field with Drs. Matthew Presti and Michael McNally, during the formation of the Colorado Springs Neurological Associates. From there, she lived a passion, working in interior design for several years. Later, she returned to financial work with the law firm of Trott, Kunstle and Hughes and finally with Guide Travel. Jean took pleasure in roses, stylish clothing, decorating her home, and visiting with her many good friends on her sunny patio at Georgetown Square. She enjoyed hockey, following Team Canada and the Colorado Avalanche. Jean is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Jerry) Dye, her son Robert (Barbara) Hindman and locally four beloved nieces Sandy Robertson, Carlotta (Bill) Walker, Donna (Jerry) Raider and Jannie (Steve) Gostnell. Family and friends are invited to gather at the George Town Square clubhouse located at 1917 North Academy Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO on Sunday, March 27 at 3pm to share memories. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice are welcomed.
