Muriel White Obituary

Muriel J. White, resident of Colorado Springs since 1953 passed away at her daughter's home in Elizabethtown, KY on January 17, 2014 at age 97.

She was born Aug. 22, 1916 in Bradley, IL. She was a US Army nurse and WW II veteran. She worked many years as an obstetrical nurse at Penrose, St. Francis, Air Force Academy and Memorial hospitals. A lifelong devout Catholic, she was the organist at Divine Redeemer Church for many years. She volunteered as a Eucharistic minister, greeter, reader and served at funerals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. White, a son, Dennis J. White, her sister Marcella Vickery and her parents Edward J. Wright and Edith (Malmborg) Wright.

She is survived by a daughter Rita J. (Richard) Haynes of Elizabethtown KY, a daughter-in-law Susan White, a brother Glen (Norma) Wright, all of Colorado; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one step great grandchild.

Cremation was chosen by the family. A funeral mass is scheduled for April 2 at 10:00 am at Divine Redeemer Church. Inurnment will be at the Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
