MYRON DONALD HOUSE

Myron Donald House passed away on May 29th, 2025, in Sterling, Colorado. Myron was born in 1933 to Paul and Annie House and older sister Jeanne in Cripple Creek, Colorado, where he grew up and graduated from CCHS in 1951. He worked the Cresson and Ajax mines as a young man. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 72+ years, Rita Flanagan House from Victor, and numerous descendants. Myron was a devoted husband and father and known for his caring heart.
Myron was a newspaper man at heart. As a young boy he delivered the Denver Post to the people of Cripple Creek, wrote for his school newspaper, wrote and worked for the Cripple Creek - Victor Times Record, and published a newspaper for the 804th Station Hospital he served at in the Army in Muenchweiler, Germany as Army of Occupation during the Korean War. He graduated from Colorado University in Boulder and moved to Sterling in 1958 to work at The Sterling Journal Advocate. In 1971 he was promoted to advertising manager which he held until his retirement in 1997.
Myron was extremely involved in his community of Sterling with many clubs and organizations. He was also a lifetime member of the Cripple Creek Elks Club.

Myron, thank you for all that you were and all that you did. The world will be a lesser place without you. It was a gift to have the opportunity to spend time with you. You and Rita, together with Jennifer, so kindly opened your home and your hearts to me as a teenager and then on return visits to the USA. You will forever remain in my heart as 'Dad' House.
