Myron Kastner Obituary

Mike Kastner went to be in the presence of the Lord after a long illness.  He was born in Bismark, ND to Bill and Betty Kastner and grew up on a farm with his brother and sister in Garrison, ND. He joined the Navy in 1947, serving in Norfold, VA and on the USS Iowa, and achieved the rank of Master Chief before retiring in 1967. His later career with Baldridge Implement CO gave him great satisfaction and pleasure as he traveled extensively in Colorado and Wyoming as the Stihl Chain Saw sales representative, retiring in 1991. On June 16, 1972 he married Peggy Baldridge Price. Mike enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad, camping, playing his concertina, spending time with his family and friends, and the companionship of his dog "Little." He was a man of strong character, cheerful nature and loved people. Wherever Mike was, he liked to visit with anyone who crossed his path, and always took genuine interest in the lives of those around him. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a faithful and trusted friend. Mike was someone you could always count on and who always cared. He trusted Jesus Christ for his salvation and was a member of Sunnyside Christian Church. Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy; sister, Laverne Berg; brother, Ron Kastner; sons: Myron and Larry Kastner; daughter, Rhonda Wheat; stepdaughter, Kelly Sanchez; grandchildren: Mitchell and Conner Sanchez; Wendy Smith; Steven, Michael, and Pierce Kastner; and three great-grandchildren.  Chris Price, Mike's stepson, preceded him in death in 1985. Visitation will be at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, on Thursday, November 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held on November. 11 at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at Sunnyside Christian Church 2025 N. Murray Blvd, on November 11 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunnyside Christian Church or Pikes Peak Hospice.

Myron,

I just want to say I am so sorry to hear of your Fathers passing. I Love my Father and miss him Dearly, so after twelve years the best advice I can give you is keep your treasured memories close to heart, and continue to talk to your Dad. Believe it or not, you will feel him near you when you really need him. Last of all remember to always have faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and he will be there for you as well. Take Care, Sandy
