Nancy (Colucci) Barbari died in June at 96 years of age in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Naples, Italy in August 1925 to the union of Francesco Colucci and Concetta (Tortora) Colucci. In Italy, she worked as a tutor before her marriage. She met her husband, Ralph Barbari, when he was an American GI serving in post WWII Italy. They were married on February 3, 1946, in Naples; and then began her journey as a war bride to the United States.
She settled into being a homemaker who was known for regaling her family and guests with gourmet cooking from her native Italy. She loved organizing and giving great dinner parties and all kinds of social get togethers. She enjoyed doing many types of arts and crafts and excelled in sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She volunteered as a homeroom mother for all three of her children; and was a faithful attendee to her children's actvities in academics, music, and sports. As a devout Catholic she was involved in many events of the church community (social, fundraising, and spiritual). She was a devoted wife and mother who will be greatly missed.
She was preceeded in death by her husband of 68 years, her parents, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory:daughter Angela (Richard) Phillips, son Edward (Sharon) Barbari, son Dr. Timothy Barbari, grandson Ryan (Anne) Phillips, grandson Brendan (Amanda) Barbari, grandson Aidan Barbari; and 3 great grandchildren, Katherine Phillips, Matthew Phillips, and Oliver Barbari.
