Nancy McAboy Obituary

Nancy passed away peacefully on August 22nd at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born January 22, 1938 in Ft. Lupton, CO to Gerald and Louise (Stowe) Blandin with whom she will be reunited in her heavenly home. She'll also rejoin her husband James McAboy, brother Ernie, sister Joann and niece Terri Brenneman.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter Connie and son Brian and her grandchildren Erin, Max, Brody and Tony, her brother Jim and sister-in-law Shirley Blandin and their family, Brothers- and Sisters-in-law Harold and Ada Berterello and John and Janice Hendricks, as well as many friends here in Colorado Springs and from coast to coast.

Nancy lived all over the US working alongside her husband and afterward as owner of Recognition Awards. Colorado born-and-raised, she adapted to the water-life on the East coast and enjoyed boating with Jim even when they moved back to the midwest. She chose to retire in Colorado Springs in 2003 to be near her siblings.

Nancy's gentle spirit, kindness and selfless generosity touched all who were privileged to have her in their lives. Her devotion to her family was great and she stated how blessed she felt with the one she was born into and the one she raised. Her ever-present faith carried her and those with her throughout her life.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 27th at Sunnyside Christian Church at 2:00 pm. If you'd like, join us for coffee & pie afterwards at Village Inn at South Carefree & Powers.

Aunt Nancy has been such a Blessing in my life. I am going to miss her so much, but know Mom is so happy to have her in heaven with her. I thank God for taking her home so she is no longer suffering. To Brian and Connie, Grandsons and Uncle Jim, Aunt Shirley & family, my sisters. I am so sorry for this loss and pray for God to keep his loving arms around each one of you. I love you all. -

I will miss Aunt Nancy, but she will forever live in my heart forever. I was blessed to have her as part of my life. To my cousins, their children, Uncle Jim, Aunt Shirley and my sisters, I pray that we hold each other in our hearts with wonderful memories of so many great times we had. Aunt Nancy will be missed deeply. Love to you all.
