Nancy McDaniel Obituary

Nancy L. McDaniel departed this life May 9, 2010 at Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs. She was born September 15, 1938 in Napoleon, Ohio to Clyde and Kathryn Bunn. Nancy attended Napoleon High School and graduated in 1956. She married Shelby G. “Mac� McDaniel in Columbus, Ohio on January 16, 1965, he preceded her in death on July 4, 2009. The family moved to Colorado Springs in 1973. On January 31, 1983 Nancy began her career at the U.S. Olympic Committee and retired after 23 years on October 20, 2006. Though Nancy had many qualities, those that were most obvious to family and friends were her optimism, generosity, and of course, her sense of humor. She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Roger McDaniel (Katherine) of Indianapolis, IN and Michael McDaniel of Denver, CO; sister Beverly (Roger) Koppenhofer of St. Charles, MI; and five grandchildren. A visitation is scheduled from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Swan-Law Funeral Directors. Graveside services will be 11:15 a.m., Friday, May 14, 2010 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado. Nancy will be laid to rest with her husband Shelby “Mac�. Memorial contributions may be made in remembrance of Nancy to First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado or Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
