I often think of you and OFCOURSE wish you never left the airport. I know you did so you could be closer to your son and you (at the time) very sick mom too, but if you hadn't transferred you would still be here. You were a wonderful woman with a HUGE heart and took care of so many. I visited the memorial and museum Sunday and saw you there and just felt the need to write something here. I am sure you are still helping others up above and watching over your son here. May you rest in peace Nancy and know you are missed.

I too was attracted by the name. (My mom was a Muniz from Galicia Spain.) After reading about Nancy, I can see what a great loss this must be for her family. The actions of so few on 9/11 caused such pain for so many. May God bless your family and all the families who lost loved ones on that day. And God bless the United States of America.

I can't remember meeting Nancy, because of being to young. Also the Muniz family is not what you call small family :)
Let me start by saying, that I have heard many good things about you Nancy, and wish I would of seen you frequently and recently, before your passing. May you rest in peace Nancy, and we will all see you again one day.
By the way. "Ramon Muniz" Which happens to be my grand pa. For those of the Muniz family who knew him and haven't heard, he just passed away of the age of 80 years old. His existence was from 1924-2004. His birthday was on New Years day. So he just made it to his 80th birthday.
We had his funeral on the 29th to 30th and buried him on the 31st. It was great to see so much of the Muniz family and friends around. He will be missed...

It was over a year, when I found out that Nancy Muniz was part of the World Trade Center death's.
A friend called me up one day to say hello, and eventually asked if I had heard. In complete and utter shock, I said no. For another year, I refused to believe it, I was in denial. I needed proof, and another friend found this site and sent it to me. My heart almost stopped, as I filled with dread and sorrow and shock. Even now, it is hard to accept, but I have finally tried to accept it.
I knew Nancy Muniz for many year's. I was her maid of honor when she first married Jimmy Cruz. She was the most beautiful and sweetest girl I have ever met. She was beautiful inside and out. She was so intelligent and creative, and always there for anyone who needed her. I remember how much she loved her family, and how she worried about everyone. She had incredible strength, and a heart of gold. I watched her grow through the year's, and she just bloomed and became an incredible woman, and an outstanding human being. We shared so many good time's together. We had dinner over each other's house, spoke on the phone alot having great conversation's, and had great time's up in Vermont together. I lost track of everyone, when I moved to Florida, but always had her in my heart. I loved her greatly and always will. I truly miss her so. I can still see her beautiful face and hear her voice. She was indeed a great light in this world, and she made the world a better place, just by being in it. Her presence will be missed by many.
I pray always for her, and for her beautiful family that she loved so very much. I remember them all, and extend my deepest sympathy's.
I love you Nancy Muniz, and may God bless you with the highest of blessing's, now and always. I will see you again one day, untill then my dearest friend, Peace be upon you and your family.
All my love, Your Friend Linda Rodriguez

On the Anniversary of the attack on America, the radio station Star 100.7 in San Diego rang a Freedom Bell for each life lost on September 11. I waited in line for two and a half hours, to receive the name of Nancy Muniz. I went up to the stage, and at 8:55 PST, proudly honored Nancy and rang the bell in her memory. I couldn't wait to find out more information about her, and knowing her spirit through this week site, I am even more honored. Finding out that Nancy was at one time in the construction field, was a blessing, for that is my own field, being very active in an organization called the National Association of Women in Construction. Her spunk and endless love for her family is qualities similar to mine. In the afterlife, I will gladly search for her and know that her name was given to me for a reason!
If her family reads this, I would love to find out more about her wonderful spirit.

Nancy was my goddaughter by confirmation. She was a very thoughtful & considerate person - also very loving. She always had a smile on her face and made everyone around her feel good about themselves. The Muniz family is always in our thoughts and prayers.
God bless you & with love,

Although like all americans, I was affected by the tragedy in New York. However, here in Oregon it was hard to have any personal relationship with the many people who lost their lives on September 11. I decided to look for someone who shared my last name and I found Nancy. There are few Muniz in this country since the name originated in Asturias and now I wonder if Nancy and I are somehow related in history. My questions began. Was Nancy Puerto Rican, Cuban, Spanish, Mexican or some other latina? Did she have a love of Salsa or the impact of the bolero? Did she cry when she heard Vicente Fernandez songs of loves lost? Would she have liked my paella or my empanadas? Would we have been friends or compadres? I have read all of the tributes and she must have been a wonderful woman and mother. I now have a connection to someone and I truly feel the loss of Nancy to her family and expecially her son. I will never forget her memory.
Espero Nancy que te descanses en Paz y nos conocemos en el futuro en el cielo.

Although I didn't know Nancy the articel I read told me how much she was loved by all that knew her. I worked on a National Tribute Quilt that will hang in the American Folk Museum and I made Nancy's square to remember her and her family as we share the our last names. It is so hard for me as it is most Americans to find a way to pay tribute to all of the brave that lost their lives that day. Nancy will always be remembered and all of the victims of 9/11.

Today Sept 06, 2002. Almost 1 year anniversary of that horrible day. Time went by but, not the memories. I met Nancy like 9 years ago. We worked togetrher at Woodhull Hospital. She works as Adm Secretary of the Medical Director, Exec. Conf. Scretary in the Dept of Obs/Gyn and also in the Dental Dept, from there she went to work at the WTC. She was always looking for something more stable , her major concern a better life for her son Brian ( her pride and joy). She cares a lot for him and her family. Always talking about them and how proud she was of her family and how much she loved them. Nancy was a wonderful woman, so caring, so giving that was so easy to like and love her. Time goes by, but althougt I don't call or visit doesn't mean I forgot. Every time I enter my office I see Nancy's picture hanging at my door . Believe it or not sometimes I talk to her. Nancy's body is not around for us to hold But, she is always around us and embracing us. Waiting for that beautiful that we will be together as God's promises.I know that Brian will be ok, she will be his Guardian Angel and she knows that her family will take care of him.Josefa,Juan,Diana,Ada,Migdalia,Johnny,Brian
and all the family continuing praying for God's strengh and mercy I will pray too. Nancy's friend and co-worker. May God Bless you all. Carmen

To my God parents and my family,
As i sit here, i think of my childhood and remember the many times being at church singing hymns and participating in the youth group activities. I remember being in the house and the girls playing and doing my hair. But yet i feel very saddened and ashamed for not keeping in touch with you guys through out the years. On that dreadful day we found out that Nancy was missing and for those who read these beautiful tributes to Nancy they will never know the sleepless nights that we endured. The countless phone calls that we made to one another to share whatever info. we had and where we had registered her as missing 1 million times just in making sure that no stone went uncovered and that we had done all that we could.
What I could never tell you is that i admire you my family so very much for your everlasting faith in GOD and for your family unity. You have taught me that no matter whatever the situation always believe in a higher power and never give up hope. I wish i would have spent more time with you guys over the years and gotten to know everyone alot better. I am comforted in that whenever i want to hear her voice or think of her i can play the answering machine at moms house and hear her voice.
Please know that still a year later as we continue to grieve words cannot express the wonderful joy that fills my heart in seeing the way you have all pulled together to care for Brian and show the world what the true meaning of the word family really is.
Sleep my angel for your time has come..........
God has called you please go on....
Nancy you left us too soon....
But that is alright.......
We will meet again..........
One day near the light.....
Many love and miss you....
and still everyone still cries.....
When you are with Mom and Brian....
Help us wipe their eyes...
God Bless you all.
We love you,
Jennifer and Ashley

Nancy was the sweetest most loving person that was a part of our lives. She was my cousin. Always full of cheer. No matter how difficult things may have seemed she managed to make you giggle or laugh. She was a great mother, a loving daughter, great sister and a good cousin. In my heart she'll always be. In my prayers I ask that all of us who knew her feel confort so that some day we can cross our paths once again. Nancy, you are truly missed. Love your cousin and Godmother Lolita!

Knowing Nancy for a few years was very pleasurable. Her department worked with my department in Engineering Construction Division. Nancy would come to our Department on many occassions to drop off mail and pick up work for her department. Each time she came her & I would talked about our families, our problems, vacations & so much more. She would tell me all about her son & I would give her encouragment along the way. Despite the things she went through, she always had an encouraging word for me. Nancy was a very beautiful person & always had a kind word to say. She would be greatly missed. Condolences to her song & all her family.

I never knew that Nancy worked in the WTC until I called her sister Ada to find out if her other sister Diana who's a police officer was alright. When I heard the horrible news that Nancy was missing, I was in complete shock. I will always remember Nancy for her wonderful smile and kind heart. I still see images of her in my wedding video and it's so hard to believe that she's not here with us. My prayers are with the Muniz family, especially her little boy Brian.
I love you all and God bless,

Nancy will always be in my thoughts.
It's hard to express what one feels when a trajedy that happened in a few hours felt like a life time. Since day one that I met Nancy by introduction of ourselves I knew there was something special about her. It wasn't only her beautiful son but her beautiful personality. I would turn that left to enter the doors leading to my desk and the first person I would see every morning will be Nancy. She would tell me "It's not that bad, put a smile on your face". Not everyone makes me smile, but she sure did. I would sometimes skip lunch to chat with her. Even though I was not able to get to know her longer "I wish I had" I will always cherish the happy times, the good advice and the loving friendship that Nancy and I had. Nancy my blessings will always be with you and your family.

I worked with Nancy for a few months when she was working on the third floor in Bldg 14 at JFK. She was a wonderful person and a loving mother. She talked about her son repeatedly and you could see the love and devotion she had for him just by her eyes. My heart goes out for her son and her family. I hope that in time the pain will ease and the memories will bring laughter and smiles back to their faces. God Bless You all, and God Bless Nancy. Angel Above!

We are deeply sorry for your loss of Nancy. May her life and love continue living on through her loved ones. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
