Nancy Polk
November 26, 2023

Nancy Polk passed away at the age of 95 in her home with her husband and daughters by her side on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
It's not a stretch to say that Nancy was like the proverbial cat with 9 lives. Like the felines she loved, she overcame each life obstacle with vigor while keeping her keen sense of optimism and humor.
The only child of Jewel and Edgar Pinto, Nancy was born in Brookline, MA and attended Choate School for Girls in Brookline and Briarcliff College, NY. Her father emigrated from England to Canada and then to the US where he became president of Salada Tea Company. Her mother was an opera singer and world traveler. Nancy inherited her love of classical music, singing, culture and travel, and cats (!) all of which opened her world to all kinds of people and places, and gave her immense joy and comfort.
With her husband, J. Julius Baird, who predeceased her in 1983, she was active in the Grace Episcopal Choir and in the Colorado Springs classical music community.
Primarily working in retail and food service, Nancy's last job was at Colorado Interstate Gas where she met William (Bill) G. Polk. After their retirement and a whirlwind romance, they got married and started a long tradition of cruising the world and sharing life's joys.
Nancy leaves behind Bill, her loving companion of nearly 29 years, children Marji Adelstein, Tom (Jolene) Adelstein, and Robin Flowers, and grandchildren Edie Crawford, Sydney Adelstein, Zachary Flowers, and Thomas Flowers, and her loyal cat Billybob.
Bill provided unwavering love and care to Nancy during the last years of her life, with help from the outstanding staff at Bristol Hospice and Home Instead. There will be no service. In Nancy's memory, the family asks that you make a donation to the charity of your choice and hopes that you too, may find through music, a way toward connection, unity, and peace.

I was working in the Colorado Interstate gas company printshop thanks to Nancy's Husband Bill who hired me, and like Bill I found my true love Linda there. I remember when we had these huge very critical printshop deadlines to meet Nancy would come down and pitch in some hours to help out with the bindery and finishing stages, coallating, folding and stitching. She didn't have to, but we all had fun. Bill you are a blessed man to have known her, and I for knowing you both. sincerely with love and prayers.
