Nancy Ross Obituary

Nancy Palmer Ross, 84 of Colorado Springs, born March 19, 1921 in St. Paul. MN, to Walter and Edith Hardick Palmer. She died as the result of a stroke on April 10, 2005 in Colorado Springs. She is survived by her husband, John "Chick" Ross; a brother, Richard Palmer of Palm Desert, CA; four daughters: Lynda (Mrs. Alfred) Adams of Tucson, AZ; Diana (Mrs. Richard) Stallwood of Colorado Springs; Barbara (Mrs. James) Hyman of Colorado Springs; and Elizabeth (Mrs. Phillip) Fredrickson of Colorado Springs; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Nancy  moved to Colorado Springs in the early 1950s. Being an avid swimmer, she worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor at the beach and pool of the Broadmoor Hotel. She married "Chick" Ross in 1953. At the side of her husband, they opened the "EZ Way Rental" in 1964. Mrs. Ross was a dedicated horsewoman who loved animals, especially dogs. She had a deep interest in the American West and the culture of Native Americans, and was a member of the Aficionados at The Colorado College. She was an active member of the Chapel of Our Saviour in Colorado Springs. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Our Saviour, 8 Fourth St. Colorado Springs, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in the name of Mrs. Ross, be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region or any organization of the donor's choice.

This wonderful woman will be greatly missed by many. She touched my life in many ways and was my godmother. Her spirit will live on for those who hold her in their memories.
