I went to Harrison. Harrison was an interesting place. You had the kids who lived on the HILL whose parents were Doctors, Attorneys, Bankers, and such.
These kids wore cashmere sweaters and penny loafers. While down in Stratton Meadows you had working families whose kids wore jeans, tee shirts, tennis shoes and if you were a "hood" you wore engineer boots and rolled your cigarettes up in you tee shirt sleeve. I lived in Stratton Meadows across the street from a friend of Nancys (Betty Fix). Nancy and Betty were upper classman back in that day you did not speak to upper classman unless spoken to. Move forward ten years Bob and I became partners. While doing the electrical for the new Citizen Bank, Bob met Nancy. I was surprised to see her working there but I am glad she was. There was also another Harrison Graduate (K.R.) working there who quietly kept me informed of Bob and Nancy's relationship. I was happy for my friend Bob who had finally found a solid relationship. My wife Rita, Nancy, Bob and I had some great times. Nancy was always kind to me even when she was mad at me. (She would give me a mothers scolding).
Bob, Rita and I with all our heart are sorry for Gretchen, McKenzie, and your loss. I know Nancy touched many lives.

Nancy and I met in Des Moines. We were 12 years old and instant friends. She called us hooligans; I called her skinny fink. Even though she moved after three years, we remained friends.
I am so sorry for her family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I know how much she loved you.
Scott, I'm sorry we were mean to you.

Gretchen and family, I´m so sorry to hear about Nancy passing. I remember babysitting you, Gretchen, when you were just a little girl living on Rushmore Dr. You were so cute with all that curly hair and those pretty blue eyes! I remember your mom being so kind and I can still see in my mind that little mixed breed black and white dog you had when you lived in your house on Rushmore! That little dog was so sweet!
Wasn´t her name Mitzi? Your mom loved her so much! I have very good memories of you and your mom and that dog! I´ll be praying for you and all of your family in this time of mourning. It is so difficult to lose a parent. Big hugs to you!

What a wonderful person Nancy was-good and kind. And, never an unkind comment about another person. Thankful for good memories.

I remember meeting Nancy & Gretchen many years ago over on Rushmore Dr. in Colorado Springs. They lived right up the street from my step mom and dad. Spent a lot of time visiting with them and loved her little dog! Rest in Peace Nancy. Thoughts & prayers to the family.
