Nancy Wenzlau Obituary
NANCY (ALLEN) WENZLAU
September 15, 1928 - June 9, 2018
Nancy Allen Wenzlau, 89; wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away at home Saturday, June 9, comforted by her two daughters. Nancy was a resident of Colorado Springs for more than thirty years and involved in many groups including dream study, Ikebana, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and the First Congregational Church.
She was born in Rocky River, Ohio, and at various times of her life was a resident of Champaign, IL, Middle-town, CT, Gambier, OH, Appleton, WI, Lahore, Pakistan, Delaware, OH, and Colorado Springs. She had numerous loves including a lifetime of summers at her family cabin outside of Blind River, Ontario. She waged a sporadic decades long battle with cancer.
We will miss her dearly in ways too numerous to list, but are thankful she is now at peace. She is gone but our love for her will last.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Thomas; children, Scott, David, Katherine and Janet; and four grandchildren.
There will be a service Friday morning, July 6 at First Congregational Church, 20 E. St. Vrain St., Colorado Springs.
Donations to CASA of the Pike's Peak Region or a favorite charity are suggested in lieu of flowers.

How sad to learn of Nancy's death! We have known Nancy and Tom for over 40 years, primarily through our relationship with them during summers on Lake Dubourne in Blind River, Ontario. As with the other dimensions of her very active life, Nancy was a pillar in the Battlepoint Association at the lake, sharing her talents in a variety of leadership roles, including as president. We have many pleasant memories of our visits with Nancy and Tom in our respective cabins as well as those famous picnics on the "Wenzlau Rock." We shall miss her! Our sympathy to to Tom and their wonderful extended family.

A great friend and a loving person. I will miss her questioning mind and warmth and loving presence. Dream groups with her were always an adventure.

Nancy will be greatly missed at Battlepoint. Her warm, German potato salad at the picnics was certainly a Montgomery family favorite. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
