It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Nancy Ann Wright, who left us on May 10, 2024, after a beautifully lived life, full of love, wisdom, and resilience. She touched the lives of all who knew her.
Nancy was born on December 4, 1935 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Bernhardt and Bernice Peterson. She married Cloise Dwain Wright on August 13, 1955 in Sacramento, California. Of this marriage, three girls were born. As a military wife, she traveled to many places where the Army sent the family. Her favorite place was Germany, where she loved to antique and explore other European countries. Retirement was in Colorado Springs, as the family all agreed it was the best place to live. She wore many hats during her life, to include Girl Scout leader, church secretary, working for the American Bible Society and running a health food store for 17 years. She enjoyed oil painting and went on many trips to take pictures of scenes she could paint. She sold many of these paintings, and her family covets all the paintings she had gifted to them.
One of her biggest accomplishments was to go to Bible College at the age of 74 and graduating with a degree in ministry in 2009. She was the oldest graduate that year! Nancy is survived by her daughters, Judy Miller of Colorado Springs, Jennifer (Nina) Wright of Waco, TX and Lauri (husband, Steve) Treese of Waco, TX, 5 grandsons, and 8 great grandchildren.
We would like to thank the wonderful and caring folks at Brookdale Vista Grande, and to Advanced Hospice for the amazing staff and nurses that helped make her last days comfortable and special. Private services will be held at a later date.
