Natalie DePalma Obituary

Natalie Barks DePalma, age 41, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1973 and formerly of Danbury, Iowa passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at her mother's home in Colorado Springs. She was an accountant who had previously, for many years, worked for Blockbusters Corporation in Colorado, Kansas City and California. Natalie Sue Reimer was born on August 12, 1969 in Sioux City, Iowa to Earl and Sandra (Hittle) Reimer. She was a 1987 graduate of Lewis Palmer High School; a 1996 graduate of UCCS; and later, received her Masters Degree from there in 2003. Natalie was a devoted mother who loved parenting, exercise, music, walking and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, movies and shooting. She was a proud member of the NRA and was hoping to become an instructor. She is survived by her loving son: Anthony; her mother: Sandra Kay Hittle; her father: Earl (and wife, Anita) Reimer; her grandmother: MaryAnn Hittle; her husband: P. J. DePalma; her sister: Michelle Harris (and Rob Harris); and her brother: David (wife, Brenda) Reimer; her step-sister: Cindy (husband, Shane) Hoeft; her former husband: Shawn Barks (Anthony's father) and numerous nieces and nephews. Natalie was preceded in death by her step-brother: James “Jimmy� Robbins and her grandparents: Leonard and Elnora Reimer, and Harold “Doc� Hittle. A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful� Chapel. A reception will then follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 S. Union Boulevard. Cremation is planned and her cremains will be scattered in the mountains of Colorado. Memorials in her name may be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 E. Pikes Peak Avenue, Suite 600, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903. Natalie will be best remembered for her strong will, her leadership, her affinity for numbers, and most of all… the love of her son.
