Nicholas Norwood Obituary

Nicholas Norwood
February 4, 2024
July 17, 1956

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother's beloved son and our brother, Nicholas Norwood who left us on 4 February 2024. He was 67 years old.
Nick is survived by his mother, Toshiko Norwood, his siblings Kai Lee Norwood, and Leah Veile. Nick was never married.
Nick, as he was fondly called by friends and family, was born on July 17, 1956, to William and Toshiko Norwood in Brawley, California. He grew up overseas living in Japan, Taiwan, and Okinawa. He returned to the United States where he attended South Eugene High School and graduated in 1975. He played high school football and was awarded a football scholarship to Lewis and Clark College. He graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business.
Nick pursued several small business ventures in the Japanese camera market and a flying school in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was known for his exceptional skills and professionalism and was respected by his colleagues and clients alike.
Nick was always available for his family and friends. He was a loving and caring brother. He had an enthusiastic sense of humor and always tried to put a smile on everyone's face.
In his free time, Nick enjoyed fishing, horses, reading and his pets. He was always eager to share his knowledge and experiences with others. As an avid reader he always liked discussing the latest books he had read with others.
His spirit, characterized by generosity, and kindness, will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched.
We are honoring his wishes and will not have a funeral service to celebrate his life.
Your life on earth was a different one. Rest in everlasting peace, dear son and brother. You will always be in our hearts and memories.

I was sorry to hear of Nick`s passing. He and I were teammates on the South Eugene football team. We had lots of laughs at football camp when he showed us his nunchuck skills.

God bless his soul , He was a hard working person. I was a friend of his father while I was Studying at the university of Oregon in Eugene. His father William Norwood had always talked to me about his son Nick and his flying school in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was always proud of him.

Nick or Nikolai as I've always called you, you are so missed by so many but more then you know by me. You showed me what a true friend truly was and grew to become my best friend no matter the age difference. You thought me so much and I'm truly thankful for all the knowledge and ethics you taught me that I have valued since the moment you shared them with me. You were the kindest person I've ever met that just wanted to help others and inspired others to be a better person. I'm gonna miss calling you for advise or when I was stressed. You always told me that seeing me happy made you happy and that you trusted me more then anyone else and so I'm gonna smile in your memory and continue to make you proud. Thank you for all the years of memories, laughs, and talks you shared with me. You will never be forgotten and I know your spirit is still alive because I have felt you with me since the day you passed away. I'm so thankful I spent the whole day with you the day before you passed and we had such a good talks and memories for me to remember back on. I love and miss you so much Nick. Rest in peace and like you told me I will see you again one day be ause you are waiting up in heaven for me. My thoughts and prayers go to Nicks mom and 2 sister as well as Larry and his niece and nephew!!

Nick was absolutely amazing. He will always be in my heart. I enjoy the conversation I had with him. I also still carry his Christmas present with me everywhere I go. Because he love the smell of the Cologne that he had put in a bunch of little bottles and he gave them out to everyone for Christmas. I will miss you so much. I love you Nick.
