Happy Birthday Nick! You are remembered and thought of every day but today is a special day to celebrate your life! Never to be forgotten; always to be loved by all that knew you. Today our thoughts and prayers are especially with you, Marty, Deann, and Amanda! We were so blessed to know Nick and have him as part of our lives for so many years. May the joy of Nick's life be of some comfort to you today.

Deann, Marty and family,
My mom sent me the TI Sun clip - I am so sorry to get in touch with you after all these years due to these circumstances. Nick sounds like such a special boy. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you.

The loss of a child has to be the most devastating thing ever. While we never knew Nick, we know his parents and what fine people they are. We are sure Nick was equally so. Just know you are not alone, but Marty, Deann, Amanda, Nick and all of his family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. Nick was an amazing boy who touched so many people's lives. I have so many great memories with Nick that I will never forget. He had such an amazing sense of humor and that always brought a smile to my face... One time in gym class I had ran 5 laps instead of the normal 4 on accident, Nick never let me live that down. From then on he would always say, "Hey Shelby, 4 laps not 5," and would always tease me about how I couldnt count to 4. Its the great memories with him I will never forget. I was lucky to have him as a friend and will always miss him. Goodbye is not forever.

Mr and Mrs Reff, you may not remember me but i was in tracck with your son and a friend of his. He was one of the best people in the world and he should not have been the one to go. thank you for the life you gave to us, Nick. You'll be missed.

I have been back home less than a week and I still do not know what words I could ever utter to aid in your pain or that could even bring any form of comfort.

I was reading my "Our Daily Bread" devotional that Teri had sent to me last month, and I read this passage that I thought I would share with you: "Someday when we get to heaven, there will be no more sorrow or separation or pain, and God will wipe away every tear from our eyes" (Rev 21:4). "In the meantime, the tears may flow". It was then followed by this poem: "He knows our burdens and our crosses, Those things that hurt, our trials and losses, He cares for every soul that cries, God wipes the tears from weeping eyes". -Brandt

To the Reff Family. You don't know me, but I heard of Nick's death through my cousin, Jill Montera. I lost my 16-year old daughter Chelsea this past April 19th exactly the same way. I know you are surrounded by wonderful friends and family now, but know that when life goes back to normal for everyone else and you are needing someone who understands the depth of your pain, I'll be there for you. What a handsome young man!!

Marty, Dee, Amanda,Tina, Toni, Teri,Mike and both "Grandmas", I can't begin to tell you how saddened I was when I got the call from Tina last Wednesday. I can't imagine there ever being any thing more difficult than the loss of a child. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I could not believe the very sad news. I only heard just yesterday, and I am just so so sorry about your loss. Just know that my thoughts are with you guys and I hope that the good memories will soon bring smiles to your faces and dry up the tears. He will be with you always. My heart breaks for you, so so sorry. I got to see Nick shoot hoops at Flamingo Pt. in NY a few yrs. ago, he never missed a foul shot, he just kept plugging them in one after another. I wish I could of seen him in a real game. Keep all those memories alive and one day; The Lord promises there will be no more sorrow and no more tears and you will see Nick again for Eternity and that's along time.

Hello Teri,
I'm so sorry about your nephew's death.
I find it hard to understand why someone so young dies so suddenly. I'm sure it was a blessing for your family to have you there at this sad time.

Romans 8:28 is printed on a pin that I found in my bathroom. I don't know how it got there, and neither does anyone in my family. It just appeared there, misteriously!

God does work in and through all things, for HIS glory.
Even in the painful situations...

Look for the fingerprints of God!

My daughter considered Nick her first "boyfriend". He was so sweet to her. She met Nick at Mountain Ridge while they were in 8th grade. They had a blast together on the 8th grade trip to Six Flags. He won her this huge bird. He kept it at his house and would send pictures from his phone of the bird to her phone. She has been very upset by his sudden passing and wanted the family to know that she shares in your grief. Your family will always hold a special place in her heart.
