Norene Sylvanus Obituary

September 21, 1927 - April 23, 2008. Norene J. Sylvanus, 81, of Las Vegas, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Wednesday, April 23, 2008. She was born Sept. 21, 1927, to Harry and Bessie Saucerman of Yoder, Colo. She was married Dec. 8, 1946, to Reverend Karel Sylvanus of Colorado Springs, Colo. Norene served faithfully with her husband in the Gospel Ministry as a church planter for the Southern Baptist Convention serving in four states, planting nine churches over their 54 years of service. She was also employed by the Nevada Test Site of Tonopah. Norene is survived by her husband of 61 years, Karel; two children, Weston Sylvanus of Las Vegas, and Kathleen Roark of Preston, Mo. Memorial services will be at 12:00 pm, Monday, April 28, 2008. at Nellis Baptist Church, Las Vegas, NV. Bunkers Mortuary will be in charge of arrangements in Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Nellis Baptist Church. 4300 Las Vegas Blvd North. Las Vegas, NV 89115. Services in Colorado Springs will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 1, 2008, Swan-Law Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
