Noriyoshi Murakami Obituary

Noriyoshi Murakami, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2016 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on September 13, 1926 in Hawaii where he enjoyed a carefree life as a boy, running around barefoot and swimming in the ocean. He was working at a gas station at the time when Pearl Harbor was bombed. Soon after, he joined the Army and served during World War II and the Korean War and retired after 20 years of service. After he retired, he started another career as an inventory manager at Western Forge Corporation where he worked for more than 20 years.

Noriyoshi enjoyed watching football and other sports and loved to eat all foods, especially chocolate and nuts. He liked working on small projects around the house, detailing cars, doing yard work, and surfing on the computer.

Noriyoshi leaves behind his beloved wife, Lynn T. Murakami, loving children Marcia (Doug) Faraday of Denver, Colorado, Neal (Judith) Murakami of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Tracy (Shupagorn) Murakami of Poquoson, Virginia, precious grandchildren including Jessica, Wesley, Patrick, and Trayda, and 8 delightful great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Steve Murakami, and granddaughter, Ashley Murakami.

The funeral service, burial, and reception will be at 4 pm, Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
