Norma Fraser Obituary

Norma G. Fraser, a Colorado Springs native, passed away Monday, January 21, 2008 at the age of 72 after a year long battle with cancer. Norma was born on March 3rd, 1935 at Glockner (Penrose) Hospital to George and Ramona Farrell. She attended and graduated from St. Mary's School in 1953 and worked with Interstate Gas Company from 1954-1960. Norma retired from Widefield School District #3 in 1993 after 22 years of service at North Elementary School as a teacher's aide. Norma was married in 1958 to Robert W. Fraser, who preceded her in death in 1995 also from cancer. She is also preceded by her mother and father. Norma was loved and will be greatly missed by her brother, Blair Farrell of St. Louis, Mo., two sons, Steven Fraser of Berthoud and Scott Fraser and his wife Elizabeth Ann of Fountain, five grandchildren; Tommy Pons, Michael Fraser, Amanda Fraser, Michelle Fraser, and Chase Fraser; two great-grandchildren, Angelina Pons and Cynthia Fraser; as well as two nieces and one nephew. Norma was a very creative person and spent much of her free time doing needlework and craftwork making years worth of Christmas ornaments, magnets and bookmarks for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to share with their school classmates and friends. She was very fond of Native American crafts and collected as well as made many Native American and southwestern themed works. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 10AM at Dove-Witt Mortuary 6630 South Highway 85-87 in Fountain with a viewing the evening prior (January 25, 2008) from 5:30-8PM at Dove-Witt. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Norma's name can be made to Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Suite 600 Colorado Springs, Co. 80903 or Rocky Mountain Cancer Center, 320 East Fontanero Street, Suite 200, Colorado Springs, Co. 80907.
