Norma Wise Obituary

Wise
NORMA JEAN WISE
September 10, 1930 January 17, 2021
Norma Jean Wise was born in Pueblo, CO on September 10, 1930 and left these earthly bounds to be with her lord and savior on January 17, 2021. Born to Parents Jewel E. Martin and Alta E. Martin (Skelton), she was the youngest of 5 children. Full of life, energy and a smile that didn't stop, she was a delight to be around. She graduated from Pueblo Centennial High School in 1948. Sister Ethel, brothers Eddie and Donald all preceded her in death. Sister Ruth lives in Jupiter, FL. Norma Jean, or Neanie, as she liked to be called exchanged marriage vows with Billy Mack Wise, he passed away in 1985. Billy Mack and Neanie were blessed with two children, Debbie and Billy (Will). Debbie (Bill) had four children: Patrick (Tammi), Jennifer (Arthur), Beth and Lisa (Steve). Unfortunately, Debbie and Patrick both had untimely early deaths and are missed every day. Will and his wife Deborah, have two children, Veronica (Steve) and Mike from previous marriages. Also surviving Neanie are ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Neanie had an infectious smile and truly loved to laugh, sing and dance. An accomplished bridge player, she loved playing cards anytime, anywhere. A family board and marble game named 'Wahoo' is a family favorite and we all enjoyed watching her and her antics, as much as we did playing the game. She was clever and loved to win and was a gracious loser. Coming from a family full of good cooks, she never missed a beat and loved flowers and animals. After retiring as a bookkeeper, she moved to Las Vegas, NV where she liked playing the slots and was a normally lucky player. She would arise early in the morning and head to her favorite casino, she called it 'going to work'. Neanie was often visited by family and friends.
As her Alzheimer's progressed, she had to leave her retirement home and community she loved so much and returned to Colorado Springs to be near her son. The last several years of her life were spent at the Kettles care home and a deep sense of gratitude is expressed for all the care and love given to our beloved Norma Jean. She brought much happiness and laughter into our lives and her sweet loving nature will be missed greatly by all.
Services will be private with a day of remembrance at a future date.
