Norman Rothe Obituary

Born April 14, 1933. Passed in his sleep, Jan. 6, 2015 at the age of 81.

Retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service as an Air Policeman, he was a longtime resident, and business owner in Aurora. Mr. Rothe owned Norman's Vacuums on Havana street until it burned down in 1990. He then moved his business to Colfax and Dayton where it remained until he closed the doors permanently in 2013.

Norman was a two time Olympic qualifier for track and field, racewalking - in the years 1960 and 1964. He was forced to drop out both times due to injuries. He is the current record-holder for the AAU 50 mile endurance feat.

Mr. Rothe is survived by four sons, Mark, Randy, Monte and Scott; and a daughter, Amy. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held, 11:15 a.m. Jan. 20 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
