Norman Schrock Obituary

Norman passed away peacefully at his home after a long fight with kidney cancer and most recently heart disease. Norman B. Schrock graduated from Stanford University where he received a B.S. degree in 1942 and was recruited by a small electronics company in Palo Alto, California and went to work for Bill Hewlett and David Packard. Norm spent countless hours developing instruments for Hewlett Packard Co. and continued his education returning to Stanford University where he received his M.S. degree in 1943. Norm had many accomplishments in his forty four years with the company, developing microwave high-frequency signal generators, FM broadcast monitors, HPs oscilloscopes and was the engineering manager for the oscilloscope division that later relocated to Colorado Springs in 1964. Norm loved living close to the mountains in Colorado and after retiring from HP in 1986 he decided that he wanted to climb all 54 of the 14,000 ft mountains in Colorado and completed his quest in his 70s. He is survived by his older brother Wallace Schrock (wife Gladys), long time companion Barbara Bunn, son Steven Schrock (wife Denise), daughter Lisa Lynch (husband Dennis), eight grand children and five great grand children. He was also preceded in death by his son Wayne Schrock.

I worked at HP in the early 80's and I remember that Norm was friendly and warm face around the tech center and fun to talk with. Highly regarded by all. My condolences to his family.
