Oela Griffin Obituary

Oela Griffin, age 93, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1969 and previously of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Medalion Health Care Center in Colorado Springs. She was a bookkeeper, homemaker, and a member of the Colorado Springs Women's Bowling Association and the Penrose Community Hospital Women's Auxiliary. Oela Keeble was born on August 5, 1912 to William and Martha (Summey) Keeble in Knoxville, Tennessee. She married Robert L. Griffin on September 21, 1967 in Muscatine. Robert died in November of 1995. She is survived by three daughters: Bettye (husband, Lindy) Carlisle of Palatka, Florida, Linda (husband, Robert) Husband of Colorado Springs, and Susan (husband, Jack) McLaughlin of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Edmondson; a daughter, A. Joyce Husband; three brothers and three sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels. Memorials in Oela's memory may be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Suite 600, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903, or to the Medalion Health Care Center, 1719 East Bijou Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
