Oliver Wood Obituary

Dec. 31, 1974 ~ June 21, 2008. Oliver Ellsworth Wood, III, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2008 in Annapolis, Maryland, after a 9 month battle with cancer. Born December 31, 1974 in Hong Kong to Oliver Ellsworth "Chips" Wood, Jr. and Crete Crawford Wood, he spent his childhood years in Hong Kong, Colorado, and Connecticut. From 1982 to 1988, he attended Broadmoor Elementary School and Cheyenne Mountain Junior High School in Colorado Springs. He graduated from New Canaan High School, New Canaan, Connecticut, in 1993, and received his B.A. in Economics from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1997. He began his career in San Francisco. Most recently he was Vice President, Food Equity Research at Stifel Nicolaus in Baltimore, Maryland, and resided in Annapolis, Maryland, until the time of his death. Oliver enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Sara Pangallo Wood and son Wilson, of Annapolis, his parents, Crete and Oliver E. "Chips" Wood of Carmel, California sister Catharine Wood of Los Angeles, California, in-laws Rocco and Karen Pangallo of Annapolis, and sister-in-law Jill Pangallo of Austin, Texas, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was the grandson of the late Oliver Ellsworth and Susan L.S. Wood of Carmel, the late Abigail Howe Crawford of Longmont, Colorado, and the late C. Clay Crawford of Colorado Springs, Colorado. A celebration of his life will be held in Annapolis, Maryland. He will be buried at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont, Colorado.
