Omer M. Williamson Obituary

Omer M. Williamson joined his heavenly family on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the age of 96 at his home surrounded by his family.

Omer was born March 5, 1917 in Campo, Colorado to Louis T. and Dossie J. (Munson) Williamson. He graduated valedictorian from Campo High School in the class of 1935. Following graduation he spent 3 years in the Civilian Conservation Corp. serving as a tractor operator. He was then called to service during WWII with the 157th Infantry, 45th Division. He saw action in Italy, Germany and France.

On December 24, 1946 he married the love of his live, Bonnie Lucille Hardin in Flagler, Colorado. He then attended a plumbing trade school and worked his way to Master Plumber. He retired from plumbing in 1978. He was an avid fisherman, spending many happy hours walking the banks of the Arkansas River. Jewelry making was a hobby he started after his retirement.

Omer is survived by his wife, Bonnie, and daughters, Omeria Elkins (Steven), Marilynn Kolak (John), and Carol Lee Baker, 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister and brother.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 26, from 5-7 PM at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary in Fountain. A graveside service will be held at the Campo Cemetery in Campo, Colorado, on Saturday, September 28th at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Pikes Peak Hospice.
