SFC (E-7) Oscar Box was born in San Juan, Texas on September 25, 1931. He passed away on December 26, 2020. Oscar was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He served 37 years in the United States Army and retired in 1976 in Colorado Springs, CO. He is survived by his wife Dora D. Box of 68 years and two sons, Roy and Gary Box and their wives, Michelle and LuAnn. Oscar has 7 grandkids, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandkids. He will be missed by his family and many dear friends. Oscar was a man that loved and enjoyed life, traveling, camping, hunting, fishing and being with family into his late years of life.

A burial will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on September 28, 2021 at noon with full military honors.

The Buckley SFB military Retiree Activities Office (RAO) would like to offer our sincere condolences and our gratitude for Oscar Box, service to our country in the US Army. If you would like help with any matters related to casualty assistance, Defense Finance & Accounting Service, Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP), Veterans Affairs (VA), etc. you can contact our office on Buckley SFB at 720-847-6693. The RAO is staffed by volunteers, all military retirees themselves, and our sole purpose is to provide assistance to any military retirees and surviving spouses/family members with anything related to their military service and/or benefits, in particular during difficult times such as this. We are deeply sorry for your loss.
