We admired him greatly. You must be even prouder of his devotion to you and your family. We know you and your family will be brave in your sorrow as he would have wanted you to be.

Mary, Otto, Steve, Mary Kay & families - Big Otto was truly that, 'bigger than life' - his humorous and passionate stories remain for all of us who had the honor of knowing him. Great memories of a great man. Love, thoughts and Prayers with you.

My sincere sympathy to the Hilbert family. I knew Otto from the American Red Cross, Western Operations. I remember him as a kind, approachable man with a ready smile who contributed greatly to that Organization.

Mary, Mary Kay, Steve and Otto: I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear about Otto. I was just 21 years old when he hired me to work for him. He always told me it was because of my smile -- not because I knew anything! The first time he told me to reserve a handball court, I called the Courthouse! Guess he was right. He was such a fine person. More than anything, I respected his integrity. And through him, I met all of you, my Colorado Springs family. God bless you all and give you strength.

It was a pleasure to work with such a fine individual. Otto tackled all of our legal dilemas with a joyful professional exuberance that will be sorely missed.

We were sorry to learn of Otto's death. I used to work for the partnership of Strand, Holst and Hilbert.

My warmest regards...I worked with Otto when he was a volunteer Regional Chairman for the American Red Cross so many years ago that do not seem so many years ago. He was cordial and wise and an individual I think of with a smile. I remember him fondly and salute his memory.

We sure enjoyed Otto's humor, and his disposition. He was fun to be around, so friendly and made a nice gentle contribution to this earth. We're glad that we were part of his/your life. Enjoy the good times . . .

My deepest sympathy goes out to Mary and the rest of the family on losing Otto. I had the privilege and pleasure of working with him and had some wonderful experiences playing golf with him! I also have wonderful memories of going to the Stanford - Notre Dame football game with him! He was a wonderful, kind, gentle man and he will be greatly missed!
